Miguel's Music Corner

Another aspect of my musical expression is teaching. I teach general music in a Catholic School on Chicago's southeast side, grades PreK - 8. It's rewarding work that will hopefully spark an interest in my students to be open to and search out different types of music and possibly pursue a career in music. At the height of the Covid Pandemic, the school was closed to in person teaching and all classes went online. The principal asked me to create video lessons for the primary grades, thus the inception of Miguel's Music Corner. These lessons were designed around themes like body percussion, action songs or holidays. Some of the featured songs and activities are my own original work and others are borrowed from a variety of sources. Feel free to join in the fun and share the video lessons.
